Maria Guimaraes
Maria Guimaraes has 13 years of experience in management of aging structures in the energy industry both in the US and internationally.
She has designed, together with Mary Presley, a class for high school students to teach the complexity of selecting an energy portfolio. This content has been delivered to high school and university students and has also been used to train high school teachers in the US.
Maria is a former Fulbright student in the US pursuing her doctorate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Caroline Obiageli Emeka-Ogbonna
Caroline Emeka-Ogbonna has over 23 years of experience in University teaching working on the application of critical thinking in education for sustainable personal and social change in Nigeria.
As the Director of Center for Critical Thinking Teaching and Learning at the Nigerian Defense Academy in Kaduna, she has engaged in organizing professional development packages for teachers at various educational levels in Nigeria.
Caroline holds a MS Degree in Educational Research and a Ph.D. degree in Critical and Entertainment Education from the University of Exeter in the UK. She recently concluded her Fulbright exchange study in the US on Program and Curriculum Development in Critical Thinking.
Mary Presley
Mary Presley has more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry as a technical expert in Risk Informed Decision Making (decision making under uncertainty), Modeling and Simulation and Human Reliability.
Mary has a passion for STEM education and youth empowerment with more than 20 working with children and youth through programs like Science Olympiad, Engineering Explorers and the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program.
Mary has a BS in Humanities and a BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
